'I'm a busy mum and my super easy hack to get trainers sparkling white again will blow your mind'

A pair of white trainers is a must in pretty much everyone's wardrobe - the classic item can be paired with so much and never goes out of - but they can easily lose their dazzling appearance, ending up grey and dingy looking.

Trainers - and in general - are a hardwearing item, going everywhere with you from the shops during an unexpected shower of rain and a walk down a busy city street, all the way to a dog walk in the local park.

There is no doubt that our trainers have to put up with a lot, and many people are desperate to get their white trainers looking as good as they did when you first pulled them out of their box - but not every cleaning method is created equally. Most trainers are made from leather and this means that as a type of skin, some methods of scrubbing the dirt off them could even end up damaging the integrity of your shoe.

However, one busy mum is convinced she has come up with the absolute best cleaning to tackling the somewhat daunting task of returning dingy white trainers to their original state - and the results are pretty impressive.

As reported in , the mum in question took to a group devoted to fans of cleaning influencer Mrs Hinch to show off the quality results she had achieved with her trainer transformation. She shared before and after photos of the white trainers in question, and they had clearly had a lot of use.

Before she had gone all out cleaning the pair they were covered in visible mud stains, and they were definitely more grey than white. From the soles to the laces the pair of trainers looked seriously aged, but by the time she was done with them, they could have been brand new.

The woman explained just how she had achieved these impressive results, "That was a successful attempt at saving trainers," she wrote in her post. "I took the laces out and put them in bleach and oxi stain remover with boiling water.

"I sprayed the trainers with Elbow Grease then put them in the sink with scalding water and bleach and scrubbed with a Minky. I then put them in the washing machine.

"I rinsed the laces then bleached them and scrubbed with a toothbrush then put them in a jug with bleach and boiling water. That's it."

Other social media users were quick to praise her hard work, which will have saved her the cost of a new pair of shoes, with one writing: "Great job," and another commenting "Amazing".
